Peel Away Ads - Highly Effective Advertising on Your Web Site

By admin | February 25, 2008

Hi Everyone

Its been a while since my last post, so today I would like to share with you something that I have recently found, and that I think will help just about any site.

One of the hardest things to do with your web site is to quickly capture your visitors attention, and to get them to take some sort of “action”. That action could be something like getting them to click on an affiliate link, navigate to your products page, view a “special offer”, etc.

Visitors have developed “ad block” over the last few years, and they literally filter out the adverts on your site almost instantly and unconsciously. The only thing they still see is something they are not used to seeing yet.

Enter the “peel away ad“.

You can see this script in action right now on one of my own newest web sites (still under construction) at http://www.astrologycharts.info

I have just installed this script, and I have still got to create and load the appropriate JPEG pictures that I want to display. But, it is fully functional and you can certainly get the idea how it works.

There are a lot of sites around that will sell you this script … I have seen anything from $27 and upwards.

Go to http://www.webpicasso.de/blog/pageear-free-peel-away-ad/ … and you can download the peel away ad script for FREE.

The guy has different versions of this script for Wordpress, Joomla, and for traditional html type sites. So any site should be able to use it. The version I am using on Astrology Charts is the Wordpress plugin, as this site is completely built using Wordpress.

It is very easy to install (by FTP) and configure (few simple options), and the only thing that you need to do after installation is to make yourself the 2 JPEG images, which the ad displays.

The novelty value of this new method of advert to your visitor is going to ensure that the CTR (click-thru ratio) will be very high.

One thing to note is that this type of advert is not designed to get you more web traffic. Its purpose it to better utilise the visitor once they are already on your site.

I am definitely going to be installing this on several of my other sites … especially on my affiliate marketing related ones.

So, if you would like to make your site more attractive and “sticky” for your visitors, and force them to take a specific “action”, then I definitely recommend that you try these peel away ads.
