Thank you for purchasing our Search2Post plugin for Wordpress and phpBay. We really appreciate your very kind support. This plugin automatically creates content for your phpBay based shop site. It does this by constructing posts or pages (you specify which) from all the search terms that visitors to your site type into the "Search box". Personally, I have always used a slightly customised variation on the search function modification given by Wade in the forum. If you are not familiar with that mod, it basically gets your site to search eBay for results rather than your own blog. Then, recently I had the idea to rather turn those searches into permanent content for my site. At least then it is not wasted content once the visitor leaves. And, its information that I know my visitors are actually looking for. Its likely that they will be typing in keywords related to your niche, so you end up with spiderable pages of keyword rich content that could end up ranking on the search engines for some of the longer tail keywords. Your site also experiences constant growth. As each page is created it is automatically pinged (I strongly suggest that you install the Maxblogpress Ping Optimiser plugin for this), so the spiders also come around to visit very quickly. System Requirements ******************* 1) Wordpress (any version from 2.5.1 onwards) 2) A widget capable Wordpress theme. 3) phpBay Pro (any version from v3.0 onwards) If you do not have the incredible phpBay Pro plugin then you can get it at http://www.psp-tubes.net/jump/phpbay.php Installation ************ 1) Unzip the supplied plugin file. 2) Copy the entire /phpBay-Search2Post folder into your /wp-content/plugins folder. 3) Log in to your Wordpress administration panel and enable the "Search-2-Post with phpBay" plugin. 4) Done !! Configuration ************* 1) In your Wordpress administration panel, navigate to Design/Widgets. 2) Locate the new widget called "phpBay Search-2-Post Sidebar Widget", and click to ADD it. 3) Drag it to the correct position in your widgets order list. 4) Click on the little EDIT link to open up the widgets control panel. 5) Give your widget a Title. This will appear in the title bar of the widget on your web pages. 6) Enter your [phpbay] tag just as you would on any other page or post. Unless you override any of the default phpBay parameters here, the plugin will use the phpBay tag settings as you have specified them in the main phpBay Pro configuration screen. Be sure to use %%keyword%% as the first parameter. This is a special "placeholder", and when the page is built we swap that out with the actual search term that the person enters into the search box. The most simplest example of a good phpbay tag to use is [phpbay]%%keyword%%[/phpbay] 7) Specify whether you want the plugin to create you posts or pages. NOTE : If you select to use pages then make sure that the new pages do not start appearing in your main menu system (this is a Wordpress issue, and not an issue with this plugin). 8) This plugin is written to be compatible with most themes. Some themes will not display your search box nicely. If you need to enter some blank lines between the widget title bar and the search text box then you can enter the number of blank lines here. 9) Enter the text that you would like to display on your page/post ABOVE the phpBay auction listings. Remember, you cannot predict what people are going to type into your search box, so keep this very generic. You can also use the special %%keyword%% placeholder in this text, and it will be swapped out with the search string that the visitor enters. This field WILL allow basic HTML tags. You can view what you have currently saved just above this field. Here is a simple example of some text you could use .... Your search for %%keyword%% has resulted in the following listings. If you do not get enough listings then please try broadening your search terms.

10) You can specify to the plugin that you wish to be emailed each time a new post/page is created. The notification email contains the keywords that the page was built with, as well as the URL. This is important for you to control the pages/posts that are being created on your site. You do not really want a search page relating to car tires to appear on your site that sells GPS's. In this case you could then just pop in to your administration panel and delete the unrelated content page. Just enter the email address you wish to be notified on into the field. If you leave this field blank then no email is sent. 11) Thats it. You are done !! Display format is Weird ? ************************* This widget fully obeys your CSS styling. If it does not display correctly then this will be due to a setting in your own themes CSS style file. You will need to have a look at the source code of your web page (your browser can show you this), and look for the classes that are defined around the area of the widget. This will give you a good clue where to look in your themes CSS style file to make the relevant changes to get it to display properly. Remember to make backups of all files BEFORE you change them. Testing ******* You can test the plugin by going to your site and typing in some search term into the widget search box. A new page/post will be created, and if you have specified an email address then you will immediately receive the notification email listing the address of the new page, and the search term it was created for. I hope this plugin helps you to make more sales. If you have any problems, questions, or suggestions how we can improve the plugin then please do not hesitate to contact me on ppcisme@gmail.com
