I am going to show you how to find high PR backlinks over the next few minutes. I hope you find this useful.

PR stands for Page Rank, and we have discussed this in previous posts. Its a very complicated formula (as you can see by the Greek mathematics on the left hand image) used by Google to calculate the “importance” of a webpage. Don’t worry about how its calculated. Suffice to know that it exists and its here to stay.

Our task as webmasters is to find lots of high PR webpages that we can leave our links on. Usually by way of a blog comment. Remember we also require them to be DoFollow links, as we discussed in our previous post titled “How to Find DoFollow Backlinks“.

First I am going to show you how to do this using completely free tools, and then I am going to show you a much faster way using a cheap (but incredibly powerful) piece of commercial software.

I have just released a new WordPress plugin. This plugin makes a new sidebar widget that displays an American National Debt clock.

There was significant talk around the net a little while back when many US debt clocks around the world all of a sudden needed an extra digit (when the debt hit 10 Billion US dollars). Its a frightening number really, when you also consider that since 2007 the US national debt has climbed at an average of 3.87 Billion US$ per DAY. Thats something like 45 000 US$ per SECOND.

I have seen some of these clocks on sites around the net, but I could not find a good one that would easily work with WordPress. So I wrote one :-)

Automated social bookmarking software – for many web site owners this has been a pipe dream for a very long time. Nowadays the dreams are starting to turn to reality.

As a webmaster you will have realized by now that the key to your online success is TRAFFIC. A completely rubbish web site that gets lots of traffic will be more successful than the best designed site in the world that gets no traffic. Plain and simple … TRAFFIC = SUCCESS.

There are a lot of things that you can do in terms of “off-site” optimization, to increase your number of backlinks that point back to your site ..

• Make posts on relevant blogs.
• Partake in relevant forums, and have a link back to your site in your signature.
• Submit to relevant directories.
• Create mini-sites on the WEB 2.0 sites like Squidoo, Hubpages that link back to your main site.
• Create separate blogs on some of the blogging sites like Blogger, WordPress, Xanga, and Weebly.
• Post small adverts in the free (or paid) classifieds sites, like USFreeAds.
• Submit your RSS feed to as many RSS directories and aggregators as possible.
• Write articles and post them to the more recognised article submission sites, like EzineArticles (the biggest and best of them all), GoArticles, ArticleAlley, etc.
• Write and publish press releases (Google loves these) on the press release sites like PRWeb.
• Submit to social bookmarking sites.

In order to maximise your traffic you need to do each and every one of these … and to make matters worse you have to do it for every single one of your main keywords … over and over and over.

Can you see the amount of work involved in doing all of this ?

The key my friends is AUTOMATION … work smarter, NOT harder.

I want to tell you about how I personally am automating some of these traffic methods.

How to show eBay auctions in WordPress is the subject of many emails that I receive from my clients. Most of my users are non-technical. They start researching this subject and quickly see “scary” words like API, RSS and XML.

Instantly they hit a mental block, and dismiss it as too difficult.

I am telling you here today that there is a SIMPLE way. It does not require you hiring a propellor-head, techie type, nerd boy, computer expert.

The solution is called – phpBay Pro.

It is quite simply the best solution I have ever seen for easily displaying auctions on your WP blog.

Keyword research tools are what I would like to cover today.

There is debate in the internet marketing community as to which comes first, keyword selection, or niche selection. Do you find nice keywords first and then find the market and build your site around them, or do you find a niche with a nice hungry market first and then research the keywords relating to that. Personally I am in the latter camp.

But, most of you already have a web site in some particular niche, so I am going to jump straight into how to select your keywords.

You should be steadily adding new content (ie. pages) to your site all the time, even if you only do 1 per week that is fine (thats 50+ pages of new content per year, it adds up steadily).

Why ? Well search engines love content.
